Deputy Director of Finance and Administration

The Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission (PRTC), a dynamic public transit provider in Woodbridge, Virginia, seeks an experienced professional to assist the Director of Finance in the direction and management of the general accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, and administrative functions of the organization. 

Prior experience should include involvement in day-to-day accounting functions (including federal and state grants), development and monitoring of governmental or corporate budgets, development of financial reports and forecasts, and financial administration. Must possess the ability to plan and supervise the work of others, demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, be exceptionally detailed-oriented and analytical, and possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and external organizations. 

Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel and experienced with Word and PowerPoint. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required, with at least six years of directly related experience, including two years of supervisory and two years of automated accounting systems. CPA or Master’s degree in relevant field, and local government or transit experience preferred.
