A Message about COVID-19 from OmniRide Executive Director Bob Schneider
Dear OmniRide Passengers,
On March 11 COVID-19 (Coronavirus) was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization. OmniRide has been monitoring this situation daily since January, and I want to take a moment to tell you about the steps we’re taking to help prevent the spread of all types of illnesses on our buses.
Like many others, we’re following the guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control, including encouraging everyone to wash hands thoroughly and often, reminding everyone to stay home if they don’t feel well, and training our workforce on signs and symptoms of the illness so they can make good decisions about their health.
Our daily cleaning regimen for buses has been stepped up using hospital-grade products, and we’re performing enhanced cleaning on buses regularly. We’ve also updated our pandemic service plans to prepare for potential changes in staffing levels and bus services in the event that quarantines or temporary office closures impact our region.
Please check OmniRide.com where any necessary service updates will be posted. Until then, we’re preparing for the worst, but hoping for the best.
