ESP For PM OmniRide Express Buses On Thursday, Dec. 5

OmniRide Express buses will follow the Emergency Service Plan during the afternoon/evening commute on Thursday, December 5, due to the National Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony. We know from past experience that the street closures and pedestrian traffic for the event would cause extreme delays for our passengers in D.C.

Beginning at 12 noon, OmniRide Express buses will only pick up from:

-Franconia-Springfield Metro Station for eastern Prince William County and Stafford County passengers (including Tysons-Woodbridge OmniRide Express)
-Tysons Corner Metro Station for Manassas, Gainesville, Linton Hall, and Haymarket passengers

All afternoon/evening trips, INCLUDING those that normally meet at the Pentagon around 12:30 p.m., will depart from the Metro stations. All regular drop-off stops will be served. Services from the Metro stations will continue until 8:30 p.m., except for Prince William Metro Express buses, which will continue operating until their last published departure time.

Because this is an anticipated event, passengers will pay the current Metro Express fare: $4.25 cash or $3.45 SmarTrip. (Half-fares for Manassas/Gainesville/Linton Hall passengers will be $2.15 cash or $1.75 SmarTrip and Stafford passengers will continue to ride free.)

OmniRide Local, Cross County Connector and Metro Express buses will operate regular service on December 5.
