Federal Mandate Requires Masks on Public Transit

Posted: 02/16/2021

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) recently mandated that masks be worn on public transit and in transit facilities in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19. In accordance with this mandate and per the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, all OmniRide passengers are required to wear a face mask that MUST cover both the nose and mouth while awaiting, boarding, traveling on or disembarking any OmniRide bus and while in the Transit Center lobby.

Passengers without a mask or those who refuse to wear a mask will not be permitted on any OmniRide bus.  If a passenger removes their mask after boarding, they will not be allowed to continue their trip and must disembark the bus. OmniRide maintains a supply of masks on every bus for passengers without masks who cannot delay their trip to obtain one. If you do not have a mask, simply ask your operator for one when you board the bus.

You can view more information on the mandate here and find updated COVID-19 information from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) here.
