Update: OmniRide Express Routes
Since OmniRide returned to service following the work stoppage, many passengers have inquired about why OmniRide is still not running all the Express routes. You might remember that prior to the work stoppage, we were experiencing a shortage of manpower that caused us to miss multiple trips each day, often without much notice to our riders. While the bus operators are now back at work, we are still short-staffed due to the ongoing nationwide operator shortage and some operators resigning during the work stoppage. We want to make sure we can provide reliable service, which means only bringing back routes when we have the manpower to operate -- without missed trips. Truthfully, we dislike sending out “missed trips” alerts as much as you dislike receiving them. We are working with the contractor, Keolis, to hire more bus operators. However, new hires take some time to train before they can be assigned a route. We do understand the inconvenience and we are working to make it better. Again, Additional routes will be reinstated as bus operators are added to the workforce.
