Meet Karen Holliday as she shares her OmniRide experience!
Q: What’s your name, and what do you do for work?
-
A: My name is Karen Holliday, and I am an Executive Assistant/Paralegal for the Federal Government. I love being a civil servant. I have been in the government for 41 years!
Q: How and when did you first discover OmniRide?
- A: I first discovered OmniRide in February of 2025. My car was not working and we were called back into the office, so I needed reliable transportation. I commute to the office three days a week. It was easy to learn the routes once I started. I put my destination in my GPS and chose public transportation. After doing so, all the OmniRide options became available, and I could start my travel. I wasn’t sure about the costs and the routes, but the drivers helped me a lot! Their directions were very helpful and I didn’t feel alone.
Q: What route do you take and where do you board?
- A: Depends on where I am going, if I am going to work I take the Woodbridge (93) and connect to the Prince William Metro Express (95) going to Springfield. Then I take the train to Gallery Place (I work in Chinatown). Sometimes I take the 93 to the Woodbridge VRE and take the train to Union Station, which is a really nice ride. If I have to go to Manassas – I take the 93 and the East-West Express (96) to Manassas. I like going to Old Town Manassas to have lunch and shop a little bit! I have learned how to get around using only OmniRide!
Q: What are some of the benefits that you get from using OmniRide’s services?
- A: Not only are the OmniRide Local and Metro Express, buses free the buses are clean and all the bus drivers (especially Route 93 and Route 95 drivers) are friendly. They make sure the riders have a safe ride. I get to share my riding experience with other commuters and introduce them to another way of commuting. I use the Maps app on my phone to keep track of the buses and to easily make my connections. OmniRide makes it easy to commute!
Q: Would you recommend OmniRide to others?
- A: Yes, and I have recommended it to my family and other commuters at my workplace. People don’t realize you can travel from Woodbridge to DC and back! I also use OmniRide to get me to church on Sundays – which is really important to me.
