Rider Spotlight

Q: What route do you take and where do you board?

  • A: I take the 971 (Dale City to Washington) route and board at the Telegraph commuter lot, which is my preferred place to board so I can get the handicap seat due to my disability. I’m usually on the 5:25 a.m. trip.

Q: Do you purchase and use the OmniRide monthly pass?

Q: Would you recommend the monthly pass to others?

  • A: Yes, I’ve helped others set up their SmarTrip card and app so they can use their transit benefits and purchase the monthly pass or use public transit. Once this is set up, it makes riding with OmniRide a no brainer.

Q: How and when did you first discover OmniRide?

  • A: Before the pandemic, living in Prince William County vanpooling and carpooling was the best option for commuting to my place of employment. Before the pandemic, I was previously involved in a vanpool program but it disbanded. I appreciate that OmniRide goes directly to D.C. with no transfers and I have a disability/handicap so being able to get on the bus and reach my workplace directly is a huge benefit to me. With the current administration, my job went from being full-time remote to in-person with the return-to-work order. With such short notice to return to the office, there was no time to form or join a vanpool or carpool. OmniRide was the best choice. I started taking OmniRide around the end of February 2025. I sit in the front of the bus in the handicap seats and can hear everything, from what the passengers are saying to what the operators are saying and I can confidently say all bus operators I’ve encountered have been nice. I’m extremely thankful to OmniRide’s bus operators for getting me to my destination safely and many passengers express the same sentiment.

Q: What are some of the benefits that you get from using OmniRide’s services?

  • A: This area is so overpopulated and in this season of my life I need to take public transit. I’m able to save on gas and limit the risks that come with driving. It’s safer and better for me to take OmniRide.

Q: Would you recommend OmniRide to others?

  • A: Yes, absolutely! OmniRide has buses going directly to DC, Crystal City and other major employment centers in that area. It’s better for the environment and alleviates congestion with less people on the road. It’s a win-win and I’m very grateful of the driver’s disposition. Someone is training those bus operators very well. If there’s one thing I want to leave you with is that I’m really grateful for OmniRide.
