OmniRide Access Paratransit Service
What is OmniRide Access?
OmniRide Access is a paratransit service for people with disabilities. Vans operate within ¾ mile of the OmniRide Local bus routes that serve eastern and western Prince William County.
People who are unable to ride a fixed-route bus because of disabilities or health issues may apply to use OmniRide Access paratransit services. An eligibility review will determine whether an applicant is eligible for paratransit service.
Hours of Paratransit Service
OmniRide Access vans operate according to the following times:
Western Prince William County Service Area
- Monday through Friday from 5:20 a.m. to 8:20 p.m.
- Saturdays from 6:05 a.m. to 8:15 p.m. No service on Sundays.
Eastern Prince William County Service Area
- Monday through Friday from 5:15 a.m. to 10:55 p.m.
- Saturdays and Sundays from 6:45 a.m. to 11:15 p.m.
How does it work?
Eligible passengers will receive an OmniRide Access ID card once they complete the eligibility process. Paratransit rides must be scheduled in advance once the passenger receives their ID card. OmniRide Access accepts trip reservations for the next service day and no more than 14 days before the time of the trip. OmniRide Access does not accept same-day trip reservations.
Trained Personal Care Attendants may ride for free with an eligible passenger. Other companions, including children, must pay the full fare. When booking a trip, please be sure to mention whether you will be accompanied by a Personal Care Attendant, companion, or service animal.
How much does it cost?
Currently, OmniRide’s local transit services are operating FARE-FREE.
