Systems Administrator - OmniRide

OmniRide, a public transportation agency located in Prince William County, Virginia, is seeking a professional to fill the position of Systems Administrator.

The Systems Administrator performs difficult technical work assisting users with computer and software issues, performing server administration duties, setting up, upgrading, or installing equipment, software or anti-virus/firewalls, maintaining a database for inventory, licenses, and user information, creating reports and database queries, maintaining records and files, and related work as apparent or assigned. 

This position will provide essential technical support to users, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and assist with server administration and cybersecurity initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining computer systems, software, and network devices, including firewalls and VoIP systems. The position also involves managing Microsoft 365 accounts, Active Directory environments, and backup and disaster recovery procedures, along with helping to maintain accurate records of IT inventory, licenses, and user information, and collaborating with contractors on specialized systems such as video security, Wi-Fi networks, and transit-related technologies.

The ideal candidate will have an Associate’s or Technical Degree and considerable experience in IT support, server maintenance, and software troubleshooting. Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11, Microsoft Server OS, and Microsoft 365 administration is required, along with familiarity with VMWare ESXi and virtual environments. Preferred certifications include CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, and Server+. Experience with SonicWall firewalls, GPS tracking and scheduling software, and transit-specific applications such as Trapeze or Vontas is a plus.

Starting salary range is $66,688 - $86,694 depending on experience, plus attractive benefits. This position is Hybrid office/telework after an initial training period. This position may require non-traditional working hours during evening, weekend or holidays due to emergency or prescheduled technical issues.
